Hickory is one of the more interesting woods to look at, especially when it is in a rustic grade. There can be a lot of color contrast between the heartwood and the sapwood, along with dark streaks and knots. We have stocked standard rustic hickory for years, and now we have found something even more unique. We are calling it "Bark Pocket Hickory" because in addition to the regular rustic look, there are a series of bark pockets also in the boards. They are irregular in shape and usually quite dark. We have a pretty good inventory of this, but will probably not be able to replace it when it is all sold. Here is picture of a group of those boards.
